Reka Nyari, a New York-based artist born in Helsinki in 1979 and raised in Finland and Hungary,seamlessly blends fine art photography, videography, installation, and performance. Her work,oscillating between mischievous eroticism and wistful splendor, explores beauty and gender from a female perspective, transforming nude figures into rich narratives filled with personal histories and fictitious content. Nyari's empowering and luscious images are influenced by filmmakers like Roman Polanski and David Lynch, as well as artists such as Helmut Newton and Cindy Sherman. With a background in modeling and education from The School of Visual Arts,she has exhibited widely, winning awards like the International Photography Awards (IPA) 2010and raising $200,000 for charity at Art Basel Miami 2021.
